What the Names Look Like

How It Works
Three simple steps to perfectly organized media
1. Select Your Folders
Select your folders. For integrating location/event into filenames (Advanced), name folders ahead of time.
2. Preview Changes
Preview every rename before you apply it.
3. Rename + Undo
Apply the rename safely. If needed, undo the last run using the recovery log.
Powerful Features
Read True Capture Time
Extracts capture time from EXIF and video metadata (QuickTime). Keeps your timeline accurate across devices.
Smart Folder Integration (Advanced)
Organize by location/event. Name folders like “Paris” or “Wedding” — ChronoLocus uses them to build meaningful filenames.
Global Chronological Ordering
Processes files from multiple folders, cameras, and dates. Result: one perfectly sorted timeline, numbered sequentially.
Live Photos Stay Paired
Detects Live Photo pairs (photo + MOV) and assigns the same index so they stay together in Explorer.
Recovery & Undo
Preview first, then rename. A recovery log lets you undo the last run and helps you recover from mistakes.
